Function & Application

  • Kinetic Type :
Release and admit air at high flow rates from and into the water pipeline while pumping, filling and emptying.
  • Automatic Type :
Release accumulated air from the water during flow through pipe under pressure avoiding advancement of cavitation and air bubbles caused by changes in flow conditions
  • Also available with Non Slam Operational feature.

Operation

  • On Pump Start-up or main valve opening :
    1. Air is released through the kinetic valve
    2. Water enter the valve, the kinetic float rises to seal the orifice

  • On Pump Shut-off or main valve closure :
    1. The float drops down, as pressure drops in the line
    2. Air is admitted into the line to prevent vacuum

  • During Normal Operation :
    1. Air bubbles are carried by the flow and accumulate at the top of the valve
    2. The float moves down, detaching the rubber seal from the nozzle and the air is released
    3. Water rises again and the float seals the orifice.
